The story of 9-year-old Quaden Bayles proved to take the internet and social media by storm towards the end of this week. As of Friday morning, the story collected millions of views on Nexstar websites. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, this clip will catch you up.
On Friday, many people started claiming it was all a scam — saying Quaden is much older than nine. And the responses from these people? In many cases, they were bullying him yet again.

Sad stuff, huh? Time will tell where this one goes. However, I’m happy to see people rallying around the young man. Hopefully, we can all learn to be kinder to each other.
The other big story of the week was the horrific wreck involving Ryan Newman. Big thanks to J.B. Biunno and the crew at WFLA for jumping on this situation and sharing out coverage with the rest of the company. People were thirsting for updates following the crash, and we were in a unique position to provide those.
Nexstar kicked off a new partnership this week with the political folks at Emerson College. We’ll be releasing exclusive polling in key states throughout the 2020 presidential election. The effort kicked off this week with Nevada.
If you’re looking to make a career move, we’d love for you to consider Nexstar. Here are the latest digital job postings — including a unique spot in Los Angeles!
We’ll end with something uplifting. If you didn’t see the “garbage man” performance this past week on American Idol, do yourself a favor and take 7 minutes to enjoy. It’ll make your day 😉
New for 2020, I’ll be sharing the social posts that caught my attention each week. Some of the content may have been posted by me — or it might have come from your social channels.
