Nexstar’s Digital Content Influencers for December

Excited to highlight superstars across the #NexstarNation going above and beyond to work towards goals, improve their station’s digital content offerings, and assist their regional neighbors. These are our Digital Content Influencers for December 2021:

✅ East Coast: Jane Alvarez-Wertz leads a team of producers that helped WAVY regularly rank as one of the top 10 Nexstar markets for digital audience. Jane provides constant feedback and training which has helped her producers consistently make the weekly top authors list.

✅ Gulf: Summer Poole from WKRG made an immediate impact after being hired in early December. According to EP Tom Ingram, “her work ethic and positive attitude allow her to shine” in everything she does.

✅ Plains: While running point on digital reporting for the Josh Duggar trial, KNWA’s C.C. McCandless provided in-depth daily trial updates, which were often featured in Google’s Top Stories Carousel.

✅ Southwest: KFOR’s Hicham Raache byline is consistently among the top 10 in the region. Hicham finds a great balance between putting out quality articles while consistently meeting quantity goals.

✅ East: WKRN’s Sebastian Posey more than earned the Digital Influencer award with his work overnight (as a one-man crew) covering the fatal tornado outbreak in Tennessee and Kentucky, helping to inform the Nashville DMA and beyond of imminent deadly severe weather.

✅ Northeast: WIVT’s Emily Venuti is Binghamton’s entire digital team, and she’s spent this year — especially the last six months — focusing on how to grow an audience when you don’t have resources. It’s worked! The market has seen double and triple-digital growth percentages.

✅ Midwest: Matt Adams, the senior digital producer for WXIN and WTTV in Indianapolis, has been produced the Big Game Bound web content each week of the NFL’s regular season. He’s a great teacher and a valuable resource in his newsroom for all things digital and for the Indy region.

✅ West: Justin Walker at KSEE/CBS47 in Fresno has made it a point to establish a goal-oriented website-growth culture even in the face of staffing challenges. He’s proactively engaged in data and has begun making content decisions based on what the audience is indicating they’re interested in.

Congrats to our winners and thanks for your outstanding effort and contributions!
